Day 13 - Back to Sydney

But first, we went over to the Leura Village shopped.  Yes, shopped.  And I bought more than Rene did.  Very nice shopping district with a combination market.

Then, back to the Blue Mountains.  We didn't quite reach the valley, but walked through the rain forest and took the easy way back - the cable car.

Views from the walk.

Those little white things in the picture are a couple of the birds we saw.  Okay, not such a good picture.

You can't see it because of my limitations as a photographer, but the water is spilling out of a cave.

Close to the bottom, looking up the cliffs.

And we made it.  Pictures from the cable car that took us back to the top.  First up, the precocious Dale who gave us the relevant information going up.  Seriously, they had a kid doing it.  He had the official Scenic Skyway shirt.

Back to Sydney.  They have a pre-winter celebration there called viv'd Sydney.  They light up the Circular Quay and project all kinds of art on the buildings and throughout the Quay.  Quite the celebration.  The Rocks area was crowded.  And there were hundreds of thousands of people there.  Some of the art on display.

The Harbour Bridge.  The faint, white lights on the right hand side are climbers how took the night time climb.  I'm sure it was amazing seeing all the lights in the harbour, but it couldn't be any more amazing than what we saw Thursday evening.

We had dinner at the water's edge at the Sydney Cove Oyster Bar at the Circular Quay, watched the light show, the people, and counted the number of climbing groups on the Harbour Bridge at any one time (8, with 14 people to a group).  A great way to end our journey.

Rene has to go home tomorrow.  I am off to Alice Springs in the morning.

Cheers!
